A vignette on the title by CHOFFARD and 20 engraved plates (combined in the first volume), sixteen after FRAGONARD and a few others by MALLET, MONNET and TOUZÉ. The figures appear to be before the letter (only the discreet numbers appear). Spine slightly faded, corners dulled. A "beautiful edition" whose illustration remained unfinished (Cohen, 574).
