FRENCH SCHOOL VERSUS 1630, ENTOURAGE DE JACQUES LINARD Portrait formerly known as Marie-Anne de La Trémoïlle, Princesse des Ursins Canvas Restorations Exceptional gilded wood cassetta frame, 17th-century Bolognese (?) work Height 106 cm - Width 86.5 cm Provenance: Tradition has it that this painting came from the Château de Chanteloup, owned by the Duc de Choiseul. The model, with abundant hair falling over a wide lace collar, is holding a rosary of semi-precious stones: green agate, jade (Guatemala, Burma), turquoise, chrysocolla (mined in Mexico, Peru, Africa; used in jewelry since antiquity). The lace on the collar seems to be of Dutch origin (Delft?), and similar models can be found in the portraits by Jan Michel Van Mierevelt, while the still life of flowers on the table calls for the name of Jacques Linard or Louise Moillon.
