This edition is augmented by Johannes REGER's "Registrvm Alphabeticvm svper octo libros Ptolomei incipit feliciter." of 42 ff. (quires A to E), and "De locis ac mirabilibvs mvndi. et primo de tribvs orbis partibvs." of 24 ff. (second quires a to c). 32 wood-engraved double-page COLOR MAPS by Johannes von ARMSHEIM after Nicolaus GERMANUS (including a world map, fourteen of Europe, four of Africa & thirteen of Asia); numerous watercolor initials, including two historiated ones, one depicting Nicolaus Germanus offering his book to Pope Paul II (a1), the other Ptolemy holding a sphere and compass (a2 v°); four woodcuts of geometrical figures in the text (a10 v°, b1 v° & b2), & printer's mark on colophon. Headcap damaged; rubbing; a short-margined copy, with several maps having their titles and some captions shortened, and the world map having lost the upper part of its frame bearing the signature: "Insculptum est per Johanne Schnitzer de Armszheim"; all leaves affected by damp and restored in the 19th century in their upper corners and margins, some in their centers; some forty with small losses of text and some ten maps affected in their centers with very small restored losses; three leaves particularly damaged and restored (second leaves c5, c6 & c7); some handwritten annotations from the period.
