KINGDOM OF THE TWO SICILES ORDER OF SAINT JANVIER, created in 1738 Rare set of knight of the order: -Gold and enamel jewelry. Cross with four double branches enameled white border and red flames, with fleur-de-lis interspersed between the branches. Obverse of the center with the Saint blessing, holding two full bulbs. Reverse of the center with two bulbs in a frame of green enameled foliage scrolls. With its scarf and knot Diameter : 61 mm. Gross weight : 40 g. -Plate in silver, gold and enamel. Star in silver repercé. Enamelled gold saint motif (small chip on the mitre). Reverse side with two hooks and a rocking pin. Boar's head hallmark. Mark of the manufacturer " KRETLY, N°46 PALAIS ROYAL PARIS ". Diameter : 83 mm. Gross weight : 63 g. In its case covered with morocco, lined with velvet in shape. Cover lined with silk marked "KRETLY BREVETE SGDG DECORATIONS & RUBANS PALAIS ROYAL GALERIE MONTPENSIER". Attached is the small ceremonial necklace of the order in enameled gold (damaged), with thirteen links (missing the clasp and the terminal jewel). T.T.B. Mid 19th century. Presumed provenance: -Libert sale of June 20, 2012, lot 86, from the LA ROCHEFOUCAULD family and the Dukes of Richelieu. History: This set may have belonged to several members of the family, the 1861 almanac references two titular members of the order: -The Duke of Doudeauville, Louis François Sosthène I de La Rochefoucauld (1785-1864) -The viscount of La Rochefoucauld, his son, Augustin Marie Mathieu Stanislas (1822-1887)
