In-8°, red morocco, triple gilt fillet framing the covers, ornate ribbed spine, gilt edges (period binding). "Nouvelle Edition" Fully engraved work with a metallic frontispiece portrait of the author, a title-frontispiece, a heraldic vignette at the head of the dedication and nine plates engraved by Noël LE MIRE after Charles EISEN. The plates are here before the numbers. Copy enriched with TWO ADDITIONAL "DISCOVERED" PLATES (the frontispiece and the one between pp. 44/45 [which is also before the letter]).
