Large volume in-4°, green morocco, wide radiating gilded wavy fillet decoration on covers, mosaic shell motif in various pinks and gilded title in center, smooth spine decorated with same, gilded edges on witnesses, green suede lining and endpapers, cover and spine preserved, green half-maroquin flap folder, slipcase (Paul Bonet - 1942). 28 color copperplates and numerous woodcut vignettes by Jean-Gabriel DARAGNÈS. Edition of 152 copies, this one (no. XIV) signed by the artist, one of only twenty placed on the market. Enriched with ONE LARGE SIGNED ORIGINAL GOUACHE (that of the frontispiece); ONE PREPARATORY DRAWING in pencil of the illustration on the first page of the text; & 90 ADDITIONAL PRINTS of the engravings (several states in black, color tests with annotations & color decompositions). Spine of dust jacket faded; some tears. A VERY FINE COPY IN A RADIANT BINDING BY PAUL BONET.
