Paris, Collection Pierre Corrard, 1922. 2 volumes in-4° (one for the suites in half-maroquin-fauve with corners, mosaic spine, gilt head), fawn morocco, wide frame of mosaic listels, gilt filets and cold garland decorating the boards, mosaic floral motif at the corners, spine decorated with the same, gilded edges on witness, green morocco lining decorated with a gilded foliage frame, green cloth endpapers, color illustrated cover and spine preserved, half-taupe morocco folder, mosaic spine, common slipcase (E. Maylander - rel. dor. 1923). 42 colored woodcuts engraved by François-Louis SCHMIED after George BARBIER, all with gold and silver highlights. Issued in an edition of 133 copies on Arches vellum, this one (no. 31) signed by Barbier and monogrammed with Schmied's stamp. Enriched with: - AN ORIGINAL AQUARELLE SIGNED by Barbier, dated 1923; - A COLOR WOODSCAPE SIGNED by Schmied, numbered 38/40; [and in a separate volume:] - A SUITE OF 42 WOODSCAPES ON JAPAN (limited to 10 copies); - & A REFUSED PLANCHE SIGNED by Schmied.
