Furniture & Art Objects

A signature category of auctions, furniture and objets d’art embody the French and European art of living throughout the centuries, from antiquity to the end of the 19th century. Each piece bears witness to the taste, craftsmanship, and innovation of the artists and artisans who created them.

Whether sculptors, ceramicists, cabinetmakers, upholsterers, or woodworkers, these master artisans left their mark on their era through unique creations. Carved woodwork, sophisticated marquetry, gilded bronzes, and Aubusson tapestries embody a precious heritage that Libert & Associés is passionately committed to preserving and promoting.

Over the course of various auctions, certain remarkable pieces have left a lasting impression and attest to the firm’s professionalism and credibility. Among them: an exceptional “Walking Lion” in bronze with a translucent patina, signed by Barthélémy Prieur, which sold for €83,200; a pair of Turkish-style candelabra from the Restoration period in patinated and gilded bronze, sold for €50,560; and a Louis XV-period marquetry chest of drawers stamped “Delorme,” which sold for €16,640.

Textile art was not to be outdone, featuring a sumptuous Aubusson tapestry in wool and silk, based on the second Chinese tapestry designed by François Boucher, which sold for €10,240. Finally, in the field of archaeology, a Roman-era marble male torso was acquired for €20,480.

Each sale is prepared with meticulous care and expertise by a passionate team attentive to the finest details. At Libert & Associés, every piece of furniture and every object tells a story that deserves to be passed on to future generations.
