Inventory

What is an inventory?
1. INVENTORY: AN ESSENTIAL STEP IN KNOWING & VALUING YOUR POSSESSIONS
The inventory is a key stage in determining the value of your personal property, whether paintings, jewellery, furniture, works of art or collectors' items.
The inventory consists of drawing up a detailed, quantified list of your personal property (paintings, jewellery, furniture, works of art, etc.). Each item is described in detail by a qualified auctioneer, together with an estimate of its current market value.
Each inventory, carried out with rigour and confidentiality, gives rise to an official and confidential document that can be used with notaries, insurers and tax authorities.
2. WHY CARRY OUT AN INVENTORY?
An inventory can be useful in many situations:
- Inheritance: Establishing a precise statement of your personal assets.
- Family division: To facilitate the distribution of assets between heirs thanks to a clear valuation.
- Insurance: Guarantee appropriate cover for your assets.
- Tax returns: Simplify your administrative procedures.
- Donations or gifts in lieu: Assess the value of your assets before they are passed on.
- Asset valuation: Know the value of your moveable assets.
An official and confidential document will be issued for each inventory, which can be used as a legal or financial reference.
Tip: Always keep a copy of the inventory for your personal records.
3. HOW IS AN INVENTORY CARRIED OUT?
